Scriptwriting Workshop - Erdi Işık

Scriptwriting Workshop

In the workshop for Akbank Short Film Forum, Erdi Işık will discuss both his experiences in the industry and what is expected from a script. He will also touch on the importance of writers' positions in the industry and how they can leverage their potential.

About Erdi Işık

After studying Mechanical Engineering and Theater in Turkey and Germany, Erdi Işık completed his master's degree in Media and Global Marketing at Marmara University and his PhD in Theater and Cultural Studies at the International University of Sarajevo. He has participated in various workshops on theater and writing in countries such as the USA, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, and Belgium.

From 2016 to 2021, he worked as the Drama Operations Manager at FOX Turkey, overseeing successful TV series projects such as Mucize Doktor, Yasak Elma, Öğretmen, Kadın, Bizim Hikaye, and No:309. In May 2021, he transferred to Ay Yapım, one of Turkey's most successful production companies, as the Drama Development Manager, where he continues to work.

He is the author of the plays Hipokrat, 10 Saniye, Dalinin Kadınları, Sultana, and Düğün Şarkıcısı. In the 2019-2020 theater season, he won the "Writer of the Year" award at the Yeni Tiyatro Dergisi and Ekin Yazın Dostları Theater Awards for both Hipokrat and 10 Saniye.

His first feature film LCV (Lütfen Cevap Veriniz) had its world premiere at the 59th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, receiving significant attention at both national and international festivals. His second film, Kül, was released on Netflix in 2024 and reached a substantial global viewership. In 2024, Işık appeared before audiences with two films (On Saniye and Mukadderat), winning "Best Film" awards for Mukadderat at the 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, 12th International Bosphorus Film Festival, and the 4th International Izmir Film and Music Festival.
