Lara Kamhi - Digital Analogues
Akbank Sanat is hosting Lara Kamhi's video series entitled Digital Analogues as a part of Senkron Simultaneous Video Art Exhibition program. Screening that is a parallel event of the exhibition Now in Digital Art: Alternate Realities + NFT curated by Zeynep Arınç will take place @Akbank Sanat between 15-30 April 2022.
As a significant phase of Lara Kamhi’s early body of work and thus at the core of her statement, the Split series investigate the transient yet manipulative nature of the ‘outside world’ through the mimesis of ways in which we perceive, observe, captivate semiotic elements daily surrounding us. These somewhat digital analogues are representing her transition from tactile to non-tangible, from figure to abstraction and from analogue to digital mediums. While applying abstraction in order to grasp the real, the artist renders down the barcode of the visible world into the core of our perceptive codes that are colors, forms and lights in movement.
