Borderline States - On the Borderline of Psychology and Philosophy: Art
Talk: “On the Borderline of Representation and Uncertainty: Criticism”
Time: 18.30 - 20.00
When watching a film, is the world presented by the director a representation or a distorted face of reality? Criticism is the sharpest way to uncover the uncertainty behind this representation. In this episode, we discuss the ways cinema constructs its own reality, the illusions it draws the viewer into, and the intellectual pleasure of questioning these illusions. We will examine moments where films do more than just tell stories; they hold a mirror to social norms, psychological depths, and existential inquiries. To criticize a work is not merely to judge it, but also to embrace its uncertainties and discover new layers of meaning.
