“Töz II”
TÖZ Trio, consisting of Tamer Temel, Ercüment Orkut and Cem Aksel, released their first album in 2018. Afterward, their new journey prioritizing collective production evolved into a musical collaboration with Hezarfen Ensemble, a prolific ensemble of contemporary music. The album Töz II combines the trio’s signature of excellent dynamics with Hezarfen Ensemble's wide range of colors, bringing together elements of jazz and classical music. Launched in Turkey in 2010 by Ulrich Mertin and Michael Ellison, Hezarfen Ensemble works with projects that facilitate intercultural exchange, encourage diverse artistic and musical encounters and increasingly challenge notions of separate cultures or traditions. The ensemble also provides training for the best of a new generation of musicians, through workshops and in collaboration with internationally renowned conductors. TÖZ & Hezarfen Ensemble will take the Arter stage on October 5 as part of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival.
