Seminar: How to Organize an International Festival, The amberFestival Experience

In this course, we will discuss how to organize an international festival in general terms and specifically through the experience of amberFestival, which held 9 editions between 2007 and 2015.
About Ekmel Ertan
Ekmel Ertan is a curator, cultural manager, artist, and educator. He works as a member and artistic director of the Istanbul-based amberPlatform/BIS (Body Process Arts Association). He is the founder and director of amber Art and Technology Festival (2007–2015, Istanbul) and amberNetworkFestival (2021, Berlin). Ertan works as an independent curator in Turkey and abroad, mainly producing projects in the field of new media art. Since 1999, he has been teaching new media art and design and coordinating or managing numerous international collaborative projects. Ertan is also a founding member of the Independent Collective, which advocates for an independent art and culture scene in Turkey. He currently lives and works in Berlin and Istanbul.
