Psychology and Art Conversations
“Loneliness”
Guest: Murat Gülsoy
Moderators: Alper Hasanoğlu, Cengiz Arca
Loneliness is a state in which the individual lacks social connections and experiences a profound inner void. This feeling presents a complex experience that affects both one’s search for identity and social bonds. Art powerfully expresses loneliness, revealing its inner depths and echoes. Through fictional characters’ monologues or letters they write, artworks explore both the internal conflicts and societal reflections of loneliness, unveiling its darker sides as well as its illuminating potential.
In this talk, we will trace thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that carry the traces of the past into the future through the theme of “loneliness,” combining the creative force of art with the deep analysis of psychology.
