Yarkın Duo was founded in 2016 by two siblings who were born into a family of musicians. Nağme Yarkın and Baturay Yarkın share with their audiences arrangements and compositions, shaped by different cultural/musical genres. Blending their original songs based on piano, Istanbul kemenche and vocals, jazz standards, Argentine tangos, and Turkish folk music with improvisations on stage, they invite us into an impressive musical experiment across styles and times. The duo's songs "Diyar" and "Dream Again" from their upcoming album were released on digital platforms in 2023. We will probably get some clues about this album at their concert to be held at Sakıp Sabancı Museum in collaboration with Yeniköy Jazz Days on September 24 as part of the 33rd Akbank Jazz Festival.
