New Media, Arts and Culture

Prof. Dr. Hasan Bülent Kahraman

What kind of a cultural evolution does humanity witness with the new media concept? In this context, how are we going to analyze and approach the brand new cultures that are evolving with the New Media? How will the current culture and art environment evolve into New Media? How are we going to deal with the fact of cyberspace, which was discussed a lot recently? Does the New Media need to be confined only as a medium of communication, or is there a new field of expression for art and the artist? Does the emojis and their usage, as a manifestation of the Hieroglyph Age in the 21st century, take the written communication culture of humanity in a different direction? How will Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR / VR) technologies be shaping our culture and art experiences? What can these developments bring in the context of the labor-value problem in the context of the social life culture, particularly to people working in the arts and culture sector but also humanity in general?
