New Media and Money

Cemil Şinasi Türün (Assistant Professor at Bilgi University – Artist of Blockchain)

Will the Internet and mobile networks transform the banking and financial sector after the media? How will New Media change the form and function of money? What is the difference between the current monetary operation and the existing cryptocurrency that start with Bitcoin and continue with thousands of derivatives developed so far? Does the Blockchain concept, resultant of Bitcoin, open the door to a new era that will intensify the Internet? How will the non-center based and even distributed network architecture with Blockchain affect the business, trade and finance world? What kind of Blockchain applications are available in public and private enterprises and what are their advantages? Will Blockchain be able to transform New Media with the money? What are the meaning and effects of extracting their cryptocurrency and creating their own Blockchain by the massive New Media platforms such as Facebook, Telegram?
