GalataPerform's New Text New Theatre Project, initiated in 2006 to create a space for new and contemporary works in theatre, especially focusing on playwriting, will be held this year under a new structure titled "New Text Play Readings." The event, hosted by Akbank Sanat, will take place at the Akbank Sanat Stage on June 12-13, featuring play readings by six new playwrights.
The theme of this year's program, which includes plays written by new playwrights emerging from the New Text Workshops each year, is "Connection."
After the readings of the selected plays written under the theme "Connection" within the workshops, there will be discussions with the playwrights and directors.
Following the play reading, the Play of the Year Award, previously awarded to Ömer Kaçar, Itır Karabulut, Halil Yağız Şanal, Sevcan Batı, Sena Işıldar, and Serkan Nejdet Sadıkoğlu, will be presented to this year's selected playwright.
* To participate in the play readings to be held on June 13, 2024, you can create your registration by clicking the "Register" button on the page. Registrations will open one week before the first event date (on June 5, 2024, at 17:00) and the "Register" button will become visible. The registration you create will be valid for all three play readings to be held on the same day. The event is free of charge and participation is limited to a quota of 120 people.
