New and Bold Short Films
The Ayvalık audience loves short films. Starting this year, as part of our Short Films section in collaboration with Akbank Sanat, we will screen both national and international short films and aim to create a meeting place for short filmmakers. As part of this initiative, this talk will bring together short film directors known for their distinctive styles and narrative approaches to discuss the future of short films, moderated by Senem Erdine, Artistic Director of the Akbank Sanat Short Film Festival.
New and Bold Short Films 16:00-16:30
In this section, we will move beyond classical narrative to discuss cinema that engages the audience through atmosphere, emotion, rhythm, sound, imagery, space, and the moment.

Whose Stories? 16:30-17:00
In this section, we will discuss whose stories the new short films tell, which experiences come to the fore, the encounters, the forms of solidarity, and the spaces we open up for one another.

In the final part of the talk, we will open up for discussion films that examine how authority, the established order, social norms, and visible or invisible pressures shape the individual's life, body, and scope of action.
