Yinon Muallem Quartet

Yinon Muallem: Percussion, ud, vocal
Hakan Gürbüz: Bass guitar, vocal
İsmail Altunbaş: Percussion instruments
Erdi Arslan: Alto sax

Yinon Muallem started playing Latin percussion and then leading the way to Middle Eastern music. He has been influenced by a wide variety of traditional Turkish, Sufi, Gypsy, and Klezmer, Balkan and Indian music eventually creating his own style with a unique combination of this rich variety. He published ten albums, one of them on percussion education and also published 2 books in Israel, named “İstanbul-Tel Aviv” and “Deep inside a broken violin”. He has worked with musicians such as Kudsi Erguner, Erkan Ogur, Goksel Baktagir, Derya Turkan, Tulug Tirpan, Elif Caglar, Omer Faruk Tekbilek, Ross Daly, Areti Ketime and Mor Karbasi.

Muallem's new album “Back Home” was released worldwide under the German label Galileo and was named the best album of the year by the Acum association (Israel).
