Born in Ludwigsburg and raised in Munich, Yunus Belgin began studying drums at the age of 9 with Dim Schlichter and was exposed to Big Band drumming at the school under the leadership of trumpeter Jim Polivka. He continued his studies under jazz legends such as Ralph Peterson, Neal Smith, Darren Barrett and Jason Palmer in Boston. Here, he began pursuing a professional career in jazz music. He graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor degree in Music Performance in 2017. Since then he has been playing in many different venues including Boston, New York, Amsterdam, Munich, Berlin and Istanbul.
