“Future Democracy” was a concept that flourished from the semantics of the word democracy, the fact that it’s composed from the words demos and kratos. In the 17th Century, democracy was related to the undisciplined mass whereas after the French Revolution of the 18th Century, the word became synonymous with the concepts of justice, equality, freedom and fraternity.
“Future Democracy”, a concept that deals with the raw and the future form of democracy, is now facing Levinas, Blanchot and Derrida’s concept of justice. The concept aims to bring a new perspective to the problems of integration. The artists use this concept with their art and choose their past and future works for this exhibition.
