Contemporary Artists Exhibition is now a classic on its own field with 27 years left behind. It is not only the continuity of the exhibition but also the capture and reflection of the changes within visual arts field by the captation of the same characteristics every coming year.
This year approximately 233 artists applied to Contemporary Artists Exhibition. 20 works have been selected to be displayed by the curators. Curators of the exhibition comment that: "28th Contemporary Artists Istanbul Exhibition brings together over 30 art works by 20 artists in dynamic visual confrontation, sometimes as a fruitful coexistence other times as a sharp contrast. One of the prevailing motifs, which came up with selection and vaguely connects almost half of the authors presented, is eternal motif of portray/self-portrait, depicted with moving images, used as a symbol, converted in posture, humorous or dim. This year's exhibition which continues the tradition of supporting young art and contemporary Turkish artists is curated by Derya Yücel and Simona Vidmar.
