“Confronting the Stories: Breaking Points in Cinema”

In this series, we explore the overlooked corners of cinema, as well as the dimensions of human experience that often remain unseen or difficult to confront, through the lenses of psychoanalysis, philosophy, and sociology. We aim to offer participants new perspectives on the meanings, tensions, and possibilities that lie beneath images. In this program, led by Dr. Cahide Ezgi Yıldız and writer-publisher Ezgi Emel, we invite participants to engage with selected works and to reflect collectively on the questions they raise about the human psyche, social perception, and the ways we make sense of ourselves and others.

Seeking to open up multilayered avenues of interpretation, from narrative forms to modes of representation, the program will unfold through both theoretical inquiry and collective discussion. Each event, we will focus on a single film, turning our attention not only to what is told, but also to what remains unspoken, and to the possibilities that emerge beyond the visible surface.

* The talks will be held in Turkish. The events within the program are ticketed. The ticket price is 250 TL per person. The ticket includes the film screening, the talk, 1 drink, and 1 refreshment.
