"Cinema and Sustainability" Screening and Conversation Program

EkoFilm Platform x Akbank Sanat

"Cinema and Sustainability" Screening and Conversation Program

The rapidly expanding film and television industry is experiencing growing success, but its environmental impact is increasing as well. Reducing the ecological footprint of filmmaking is crucial not only for the industry's future but also for fostering greater awareness of climate change and environmental issues in society.

The "Cinema and Sustainability" Screening and Conversation Program is being presented to moviegoers through a collaboration between Akbank Sanat and EkoFilm: Sustainable Production Platform. As part of the program, a selection of films curated by the EkoFilm Platform — an initiative leading efforts to raise awareness about sustainable filmmaking in Turkey — will be screened at Akbank Sanat, focusing on themes of environment and sustainability.

The program will also delve into the intricacies of sustainable filmmaking and education through a series of talks designed to inspire and inform film enthusiasts, industry professionals, and educators. These conversations will explore a broad range of topics, including energy efficiency, waste management, carbon footprint calculations, and sustainable storytelling. This unmissable event invites all who wish to take action today to help shape the cinema of tomorrow, calling for a collective transformation toward a greener film industry.

* To participate in the film screenings and talks in the program, you can go to the detail page of the event you want to attend and create your registration by clicking the "Register" button on the page. Registrations for each event in the program will be opened 5 days before the event date on the relevant event detail page and the "Register" button will be visible. All events are free of charge and participation is limited to quota.

* We use the eventCO2 tool to calculate the carbon footprint of our Cinema and Sustainability Screening and Conversation Program event and report our environmental impact. You can participate in this calculation by scanning the QR codes in the event area.
