“The Quiver Project” Open Call
Sanpapie Dance Company and IDF in collaboration with Akbank Sanat are launching an exciting joint project that combines the talents of Italian and Turkish dancers in a unique two-stage performance residency. Project Overview
Phase 1: Istanbul Residency and Open Rehearsal The first phase of the project will take place in Istanbul from June 10-20, 2024. During this time, Sanpapie Dance Company, led by Lara Guidetti and Matteo Sacco, will run a residency program within IDF. The program will include open auditions, workshops and rehearsals, which will take place on June 11, 2024 at Akbank Sanat. Four talented Turkish dancers will be selected to participate in the residency and the program will culminate in an open rehearsal performance on June 20, 2024.
Phase 2: Italy Residency and Performances The second phase will take place in March 2025 in Milan, in collaboration with Spazio Magnete and Fondazione Cariplo. Selected Turkish dancers will join Italian dancers for an intensive residency under the guidance of Sanpapie Dance Company. This residency will promote intercultural cooperation and artistic development. The project will culminate with a preview in Italy in late May or early June 2025, followed by a premiere in Turkey.
Aims and Objectives
- Artistic Exchange: To create a platform for Italian and Turkish dancers to collaborate, share techniques and develop new improvised dance performances.
- Cultural Integration: To enhance cultural understanding and artistic expression through the fusion of different dance traditions and styles.
- Performance Innovation: To push the boundaries of contemporary dance through innovative residency programs and performances.
