Sami Barış Kefeli was born in 1988 in Istanbul. He graduated from Bilgi University Advertising Department and worked as a copywriter in various agencies. In 2013, he went to Los Angeles for filmmaking education. He contributed to the production process of many short films. He studied directing at UCLA. His first short film Family Business was his graduation project. He returned to Turkey in 2017.
