Aydın Kahya & Rustam Rahmedov Duo
Vocalist Aydın Kahya and conductor, pianist, and composer Rustam Rahmedov will be guests of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival with their duo performance. Born in Ankara, Aydın Kahya studied composition and vocal techniques with Prof. İlhan Baran and Keisha Brown after completing his education at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory with distinction. His discography includes Önder Foçan's first Turkish jazz album Vocalists (1999) on Blue Note and Tony Jones' R&B album Istanbul Party (2006). Born in Ashgabat to a family of opera singers, Rustam Rahmedov graduated from the Piano Department of the Turkmenistan National Conservatory with Honors. Then he reinforced his success as a soloist with the degrees he has achieved in prestigious piano competitions. As of the 2023-2024 season, he conducts the orchestra at Ankara State Opera and Ballet. Aydın Kahya & Rustem Rahmedov Duo will perform their "The Best Movie Songs Of All Time” project at Akbank Sanat on October 9.
