Jazz Clubs Night: Barış Doğukan Yazıcı Quintet feat. Marko Churnchetz “Miles Davis Centennial Celebration”
"Miles Davis Centennial Celebration" is a special tribute project celebrating the innovative spirit, improvisational approach, and lasting influence on jazz of Miles Davis, one of the most defining figures of jazz history. The project was curated specifically for the centenary of the musician's birth. Taking an original approach to works selected from across Miles Davis's various periods, the Barış Doğukan Yazıcı Quintet joins forces in a special musical encounter with pianist Marko Churnchetz, who stands out on the European and American jazz scenes with his distinctive musical language. Taking place on September 29 at Nardis Jazz Club as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival's Jazz Club Night series, the concert will reinterpret Miles Davis's timeless music through a contemporary jazz lens.
