Corda Quintet
The long-running collaboration between the Nardis Young Jazz Musician Competition and the Akbank Jazz Festival continues this year with Corda Quintet. Formed by musicians who came together to take the stage at the festival after placing in the 21st Nardis Young Jazz Musician Competition, the group's lineup features Barış Alp Dönmez on vocals, Doruk Liman on guitar, Ulaş Özdemir on bass, Öykü Damla Gözel on piano, and Selami Baysal—the competition's first-place winner—on drums. Showcasing a range of educational and stage experiences within a single lineup, from national to international young musician programs, the quintet brings a cross-section of Turkey's new generation of jazz musicians to the stage of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival. Corda Quintet performs at Yeldeğirmeni Sanat on September 26.
