Creating Situation and Psychophysical Action - I
Facilitator: Erol Babaoğlu
Time: 15:00 – 18:00
This workshop investigates the concept of the “player” in acting, exploring the relationship between internal centers and psychophysical action. Through experiential work on the body’s and voice’s centers, participants examine how action emerges in the unity of body and mind.
By activating different centers (e.g., pelvic center, chest center, vocal resonance points), participants discover impulsive responses born in the moment on stage. The practice focuses on thinking and performing through psychophysical action, rooting physical movement in inner motivation and psychological expression.
The work aims to activate unconscious processes of the conscious mind using evocative objects, images, and movements. Improvised materials created through the principle of “design in the moment” are transformed into role sketches. At the end of the process, each participant deepens their character work by writing a short dramatic text and biography of their chosen role.
