Memory, Jazz, and Visual Culture: A Journey Through Time at İMÇ
Regarded as the heart of both the Unkapanı district and Turkey's music industry, the Istanbul Drapers' Bazaar (İMÇ) is not just a commercial and architectural symbol, but also a vital hub of music culture in Turkey. Organized in collaboration with Kreşendo as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival, this special event focuses on the memory of İMÇ, its ties to jazz music, and the transformation of visual culture. The conversation featuring Müjde Yazıcı and Görkem Kızılkayak will take place at İMÇ on October 3. It will explore the bazaar, its significance in our musical memory, and the traces of jazz embedded within this spatial memory.
Speakers: Müjde Yazıcı, Görkem Kızılkayak
