İmer Demirer Quartet
İmer Demirer is one of the most distinctive and enduring figures of the jazz scene in Turkey. Having held the trumpet in his hands for 50 years, the instrument has become an inseparable extension of his identity. The tone he produces—at times lyrical, at times insurgent—reflects the depth of his outlook on both music and life. “Breath must not be wasted,” says the trumpet virtuoso, whose aim is to create a meaningful and lasting sound. İmer Demirer, who began his musical education at age 12 at the Istanbul State Conservatory, shared the stage with names such as Emin Fındıkoğlu, Erol Pekcan, Neşet Ruacan, and Aydın Esen following his education at Mimar Sinan University. Having released two solo albums to date, You Me & Char (2009) and Evergreen (2025), Demirer will be a guest at the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival with a concert taking place at Komünite on October 9, accompanied by his quartet.
