L'Antidote
Can beauty save the world? This is the wager of Bijan Chemirani, Redi Hasa and Rami Khalifé, getting together to create L'Antidote, an instrumental repertoire of rare finesse that pits the healing power of music against the poisons of the present day. A master of the percussion, who likes to immerse in jazz as well as in the Mediterranean, Bijan Chemirani combines his science of rhythm with Albanian cellist Redi Hasa, known for his contribution to the revival of traditional music in southern Italy. The other member of the trio, Lebanese pianist Rami Khalifé, masterfully blurs the boundaries between classical and electro on the keys of his piano. Bijan Chemirani summarizes the trio's chemistry with the words: “L'Antidote is an island where we can meet to play music that resembles us and brings us together beyond our individualities.” L’Antidote will take the stage at ARTER on the evening of October 4 as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival, in collaboration with ARTER.
