Masterclass: Momoko Gill & Danae Palaka
Drummer, producer, composer, and vocalist Momoko Gill is one of the key figures shaping today’s UK electronic music and jazz scenes. Istanbul-based drummer and composer Danae Palaka blends contemporary jazz, krautrock, and electronic music with Anatolian, Balkan, and Afrobeat-influenced rhythms. In a masterclass session taking place at Bahçeşehir University Conservatory - Pera Campus / Pera Stage on September 27, in collaboration with BAU Jazz and with the support of the British Council, as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival, they will share their multifaceted relationship with rhythm and their diverse production practices.
