Stage Directions

What is the role of stage directions as part of a play text? How should they be interpreted at the interface of writing, directing, and acting? While discussing the function of these "latent additions" to the script that often fade during performances, this workshop will also offer an opportunity to revisit the relationships between theatre, text, and performance.
