Cukunft featuring Ediz Hafızoğlu
"Cukunft" is the name of the musical project, established under the lead of Raphael Rogiński, who is known as a "charismatic and extraordinarily creative musician" on the Warsaw music scene. The band is aming at continuing the East European music tradition in all its richness. After the 1850s musicians blended the middle and east European folkloric melodies with their own local musical traditions in a very special harmony, and later created the first examples of klezmer music that would meet with jazz in the US. Its relationship with jazz has created a new jazz genre that is today called "klez jazz" and "Cukunft" is one of the most original ensembles in this genre. The band performs very dynamic and entertaining concerts. This concert project is organized as part of the 2014 culture program that celebrates the 600th year of Polish-Turkish diplomatic relations.
