Akbank 7th Jazz Festival is bringing together world famous jazz musicians with jazz fans between the dates of 8 - 19 October 1997.
Festival activities this year will not only be limited with Istanbul, The fire of jazz will also be felt in Ankara. Betty Carter & Trio, Egberto Gismonti Trio, Yusef Lateef & Adam Rudolph's Moving Pictures, James Carter Quartet, Ned Rothenberg's SYNC, Acid Trippin, Courtney Pine Band, Muhal Richard Abrams Quartet, Craig Harris & Barbaros Erkose Project, METU Turkish Folk Science Association Experimental Music Group, Imer Demirer, Tuna Otenel, Mahmut Yalay & Ates Tezer and Ilhan Ersahin Trio will be participating in Akbank 7th Jazz Festival this year.
The Festival will commence with the concert Betty Carter Trio will be giving at Sabanci Center on the 8th of October. There are also seminars and film presentations on jazz in the festival besides concerts.
Pictures of Miles Davis, the legendary name of jazz, will be exhibited at Aksanat within the scope of the festival. Universality of jazz will once more unite all music lovers.
