"Cinema Ecologica" Screening Program
The Cinema Ecologica selection, which will be held in cooperation with Akbank Sanat, Eye Filmmuseum and the Dutch Consulate to Kingdom of the Netherlands, focuses on the fragility of ecosystems, the effects of human intervention and nature itself, and also allows us to ask new questions in the place of humans in this cycle.
The selection, which includes five meritorious films from the Cinema Ecologica program organized by Eye Fillmmuseum in 2022 (Weemoed en Wildernis, De Platte Jungle, 5 Walks Trilogy) and the film I am the River, the River is Me from the official Movies That Matter selection, focuses on ecological transformations that begin with the intervention of nature and which over time, humans become a part of. These productions of Dutch cinema that have taken part in many important international festivals, offer a broad perspective on environmental themes. Films focusing on different ecosystems such as islands, rivers, forests and seas establish a narrative in which nature is not a background but the protagonist of the story.
* To participate in the film screenings within the program, you can go to the event detail page of the screening you want to attend and create your registration via the "Register" button on the page. Registrations for each screening in the program will be opened on the event detail page of the relevant screening, 5 days before the event date and the "Register" button will become visible. All screenings are free of charge and participation is limited to 110 people.
